Anika Noni Rose, an American actor and singer. Her most well-known role is her role as Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog. Tiana was Disney's very first black princess. She was named as a Disney Legend in 2011. Rose was the Oscar-winning actor who played Lorrell on the screen in Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born on September 6, 1973) is an American actress and performer. Her most well-known role is as Tiana the first Disney African American princess from The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. She also has a starring performance, in the role of Lorrell Robinson, on the show Dreamgirls (2006) that has been nominated to win an Academy Award. And she plays LaVerne jukebox Ganner in the Starz series Power. She is also known for her performance in the theatre, particularly for her starring roles as Emmie Thibodeaux and as Emmie in The Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) in which she was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical and Beneatha Younger as part of The Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) where she received nominations for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
